Wil Jenny – Legendary Texan
Wil Jenny was born just north of San Antonio on a ranch just thru the Bandera Pass. As a child his world was the outdoors. White tails, bobwhites, and rios were his pursuit. The life of a cattleman was appealing to wil in his youth. However, the solitary life and hills of bandera could not keep young wil on the ranch.
Wil volunteered for the army as do so many Texans when the nation needs its sons. After serving his country proudly in the war a young soldier was discharged from service at Fort Hood.
After the army wil headed to Austin, Texas where he also found the delights of the local night life: great food, cold beer and beautiful senñoritas. When the money ran out, he used the GI bill to further his education. After graduating from the great state university, he seemed to lose focus for a while and found himself playing a little guitar and cooking at various restaurants to make ends meet. At some little dive in the hill country he eyed a beautiful young Texan. After an awkward introduction she saw the good in this young man. He too saw the light and married into a very wealthy east Texas oil family. After a few short years he became CEO of the oil company and bought a football team. After several years of salary caps and a bust in the oil industry and the fact he had no criminal record, to speak of, he ran for political office and became the thirty-second governor of the great state of Texas.
Ok, that was a whopper. Truth is this place is named after our kids and we just love Texas and wanted to share the tastes, smells, and sounds of Texas with you.
Wil Jenny’s is a Texas hill country joint featuring steaks, tex-mex, barbecue and the best damn bar north of the Red River.
Our steaks are hand cut and grilled over hickory charcoal. All our salsas and sauces are homemade with fresh vegetables, fruit and dairy. Our tortillas are made fresh constantly. We smoke all our meat with pecan and oak in our custom made Texas rig. The beer is iced, the rita’s cheap and the juke box is free. Be a Texan!
